Good news for couch potatoes who'd like to support this year's Comic Relief Red Nose Day on 14 March, but would rather not skydive from 15,000ft dressed as a baboon to do it, comes in the form of the charity drive's e-commerce enabled website.

For the first time, online donations can be processed in sterling, euro, Australian or American dollars, so there's very little excuse for not chipping in a few quid to support this most worthy of causes.

Alternatively, charitable Reg readers might like to help by logging onto Kevin Watkins' Red Nose Day site where the reckless youth has invited online bidders to choose him a middle name. The highest bid by 14 March gets to pick a suitably silly moniker, and we have a feeling he'll live to regret this moment of madness.
