Website in 'Apple to launch 3G iPhone at WWDC' allegation shock

Never heard that one before...

Published Tuesday 20th May 2008 13:36 GMT

Apple will formally launch the iPhone on 9 June, yet another anonymous 'mole' has alleged.

The so-called "confirmation" - though it's actually nothing of the sort - comes from website Gizmodo. Had the information come directly from Apple or one of its carrier partners, that would be a confirmation, but so far as we can tell it doesn't. Gizmodo's certainly giving nothing away that might allow us to say categorically that the gen's bona fide.

The site does attribute the allegation to "reliable" sources "close to the 3G iPhone launch". Well, possibly they are, but World+Dog is still no closer to knowing for certain that Steve Jobs will whip the thing out during his Worldwide Developers Conference keynote on 9 June.

Said mole claims the new iPhone will go on sale across the globe on 10 June - it'll already by that date in Australia as Jobs takes to the stage - but we already had that from previous rumours, just as the 'Apple to launch 3G iPhone at WWDC' allegation has been heard many, many times before.
